Mackenzie is an attorney (NY & AZ) & constitutional scholar— but you know not to take anything here as legal advice, right? She’s 1 of 2 attorneys trained to represent minors seeking abortions in Maricopa Cty, AZ.
She’s still learning to make “content” (and is getting an MMC at the Cronkite School), but she’s still gotta get the info out— SO, she puts videos, essays and podcasts out on all sorts of sociopolitical issues. All of it is on this site, unless she’s slacking. Otherwise, find her @MkzJoyBrennan, or at the Reynolds Center for Business Journalism (she’s a
fellow). She’s also proud to serve on the NYC Bar Sex & Law Committee and the Board of Directors of the Desert Star Institute for Family Planning.

Contact Mackenzie for more info.

Mackenzie previously worked…

as Court Attorney to a New York Supreme Court Judge and as counsel under [unspecified New York Government Entity]. Other legal work included stints at the US Federal Court (EDNY); the Center for HIV Law; and the ASPCA General Counsel. She also helped teach Constitutional and Criminal Law.

She’s worked in the policy sphere too, as a Congressional lobbyist for international press freedom, a linguistic policy researcher for Oxford University Press, and a campaign assistant to Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego.  Previously, Mackenzie frequented the writing world as an editor, poet, and journalist—the fruits of those labors were borne by lit mags, Bustle, Elite Daily, The Arizona Republic, and the illustrious Tiger Beat.

She’s been delving progressively deeper into digital content since starting as a host & producer of XXceedingly Persuasive in 2019.

Mackenzie was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in her 20s. After decades of masking landed her in high-ranking government law but ALSO in the hospital with an ulcer, she’s learning to unlearn a lot of capitalist values.
She hails from Arizona, but she’s been amassing art supplies and power tools in Brooklyn for some time. Her mom recommends that she consider getting a LifeAlert button.

Find her @MkzJoyBrennan on (mostly) everything.
